Germinal Experiment Has Lasted 142 Years

If there is one lesson an entrepreneur can learn from a long germinal experiment is that of patience and persistence.

If not, ask the team of scientists whose been working on Dr. Beal’s Seed Experiment for almost a century and a half.

Every 20 years, the experiment wardens dig out seeds that were put in bottles underground 142 years ago, at a secret location on MSU’s campus.

The idea to figure out if dormant seeds can still germinate after long periods of time.

This germinal experiment has also brought insight that could help with ecosystem restoration, crop storage, among other things.
